At 34, Joe Mammone’s dedication to the restaurant game so far extends to over 15 years.
Whilst in the infant stages of his career, Joe took restaurant management seriously. It was not long before he was approached to work for the well-known Melbourne institution: Caffé e Cucina.
After 4 years at Cucina, Joe moved onward and upward to become assistant manager to Alex Armatra at Scusami, the 150 seater, two-hat restaurant in Southbank.
Post Scusami, Joe spent two years in new New York, hosting at Cipriani’s restaurant in West Broadway and Amaranth on the Upper East Side
In 2001, Joe returned home fresh with inspiration from abroad and landed the management role at Melbourne’s reputable Italian dining room, Il Bacaro. Shortly after his appointment, Joe became an owner of the business of which he still owns today.
Sarti, Joe’s most recent venture and probably his greatest challenge so far, had achieved its ‘one hat’ status in 2009 and again in 2010.
