Whitewater Head Chef Steve Ashley boasts over 14 years of extensive experience in the Hospitality Industry having completed his apprenticeship at the innovative Jameson’s Restaurant in Brisbane under internationally renowned Chef Anthony Scholtmeyer. He then moved on to Hayman Island resort, an exclusive 5 star resort in Queensland’s Whitsundays and further honed his skills working in ‘La Fontaine’, the islands fine dining restaurant. He worked alongside some of Europe’s most talented expatriate Chefs under Executive Chef Peter Kuruvita’s (of Flying Fish) leadership.
With the Sydney restaurant scene always beckoning, Steve re-located and began working his way through some of Sydney’s finest waterfront establishments. Such as Catalina Rose Bay, The Watermark at Balmoral & the Bathers Pavilion.
Eventually settling in Manly and working at Whitewater for a lengthy period of time as Sous Chef, Steve now heads up a strong team of young chefs dedicated to providing the quintessential Sydney waterfront dining experience.
With exciting new seasonal menus focusing on the deft use of quality local and regional produce, and an extensive knowledge of what it takes to make a meal truly ‘memorable’ Steve eagerly awaits your company to help him showcase the best that Sydney dining had to offer
